Investing in Therapy

“Therapy truly is an investment in your life, your happiness, your family, your marriage, and your relationships! A more balanced and harmonious life and relationship awaits you…”

Investing in therapy is a multifaceted commitment; when you agree to “go to therapy,” you are agreeing to commit your time, your energy, and your finances toward an ultimate greater good – the hope that you will create positive change and restore balance and harmony back into your life.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs) about Rates, Accepted Insurances, Specialties, etc.

Investing in therapy does require a cost. We encourage our clients to prioritize psychotherapy the same way they prioritize other necessary health appointments. Besides paying privately, clients can also utilize their HSA/FSA funds or Out-of-Network (OON) reimbursement from insurance (if this benefit is included in your current insurance plan).

Investing in therapy does require a cost. I encourage my clients to consider therapy the same way they consider necessary health appointments: if you feel it is essential to the well-being of your health, your relationship, your family, or your life, then prioritize it as such. Besides paying privately, clients can also utilize their HSA/FSA funds or OON reimbursement from insurance (if this benefit is included in your current insurance plan).

A: We are not in network with any major insurance plans; however, Ashley Starzec, LMFT is in-network with Lyra Behavioral Health (ask your employer if they offer Lyra Behavioral Health benefits). Please read the next section below for information about how you may still be able to receive reimbursement for session costs.

A: YES!! Ask your insurance company if you have any “out-of-network mental health benefits.” If you do, this would mean that you are allowed to see a provider that is not part of your insurance network (like us). If you do have these benefits, ask your insurance company what they are. Usually, the insurance company agrees to cover up to a certain percentage (like 50-80+%) and then you are responsible for the remainder. Every plan is different. You may also have a deductible to meet first, a limit on the number of sessions they will reimburse, or responsible for any difference between the amount the insurance company reimburses and my private pay rate. With this OON route, you do have to initially pay our private pay rate at the time of each session and then we will give you the paperwork needed to submit to the insurance company for reimbursement directly to you. If you have an HSA/FSA card for medical expenses, you can use this for session payments, as well.

A: Cash, local checks, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover), and HSA/FSA cards are all accepted forms of payment for your investment.

A: Our specialty is treating any issue having to do with relationships of some kind — for example: experiencing relationship dysfunction, lack of connection, communication issues, infidelity/trust issues, divorce, blended family issues, or even another mental health issue that is impacting the relationship (i.e. high anxiety that interferes with functioning of the relationship/family). We treat adult individuals, families and couples/relationships, as long as the primary areas of focus meet the aforementioned criteria.

A: Yes. If you are looking to specifically treat a larger mental health issue (severe depression/anxiety, mood/bipolar disorder, personality disorder [BPD/NPD, DID, etc.], psychosis, trauma, addictions of any nature, grief/loss), we will need to refer you to a skilled colleague, as our skill-set would not be an appropriate match for your needs. Also, for couples therapy, if there is an active and untreated addiction (alcohol, drugs, gambling, pornography, etc.), active abuse, or active infidelity, we would need to ensure that these issues are sufficiently treated before we can begin couples therapy.

A: Sessions are by appointment only and are currently offered: Mondays & Tuesdays: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Wednesdays: 11:00 AM – 4:00pm; Thursdays: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM; and Fridays: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Our next available appointments are usually immediate. Please contact our Clinical Director for all referrals or to make an appointment: Ashley Starzec, LMFT at ashley@perfectharmonysolutions.com.

A: Sessions are scheduled for either 50-minutes or a full double-session (110 minutes). A 50-minute session is the “traditional” length of a therapy session, but we also offer extended sessions, when needed or requested.

A: The amount of time required varies depending on the client and the treatment plan that the client and therapist have decided upon together. Depending upon the issues needing to be addressed and resolved, some clients need a shorter-term piece of work and others need a longer-term treatment plan. Initially, sessions are typically weekly or bi-weekly and you will also be asked to practice or strengthen skills or ideas outside of sessions, as well. You and your therapist will only be together a short time out of each week and it is up to you to commit yourself to getting the most out of our work together by reinforcing ideas and techniques outside of sessions. Changing patterns and old habits is difficult and requires energy, but a more harmonious life is completely within your reach with each new change you make! We are committed to helping you through every step of the process because the benefits you can experience are truly amazing.

A: Cancellation Policy:

  • When an appointment is scheduled with us, that time is reserved specifically for you and your treatment, and as such, we ask that you please provide us with at least 48-hours’ notice if you need to cancel the appointment. When appointments are not kept or when they are not cancelled with appropriate notice, that valuable professional time is not being used for you and it is also not able to be used for other clients who may be waiting for services. Therefore, appointments cancelled less than 48-hours before their scheduled time are subject to a late cancellation fee. If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment (called a “no show”), you will be required to pay the full session fee.
